From November 11 to 15, 2025, the National Petrochemical Industry Intelligent Vocational Skills Competition & the 16th National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Vocational Skills Competition was held at Shandong Chemical Technician College. The event was cooperated by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center and Chemical Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center. Undertaken by Shandong Chemical Technician College. It also get support from China Chemical Industry News Co., Ltd., Shanghai Mapada Instruments Co., Ltd. and Oriental Simulation Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.
The competition has 109 groups with a total of 277 contestants from 15 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across China. It featured three major categories: compressor operation, chemical inspection and chemical safety. The event comprehensively assessed the professional skills and practical operational capabilities of all participants during the three days.
Shen Lei, Director of the Chemical Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal and Guidance Center, hold the opening ceremony. Sun Qiuhong, Chairman of the Trade Union Federation of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation spoke in the ceremony. He said that the National Petroleum and Chemical Industry Vocational Skills Competition has become a widely recognized high-standard, wide-coverage and high-level skills competition in the petrochemical industry. The competition has attracted industrial talents from Fortune Global 500 company and other employers.
As one of the co-organizers, Shanghai Mapada Instruments Co., Ltd. provided classic product—UV-1800PC-DS2 UV-Visible Spectrophotometer—for the Chemical Inspector competition event. This instrument features a high-precision, high-stability optical system, which ensures the accuracy and reliability of experimental data. In the competition, participants used this instrument to analysis various samples, showing their professional skills and operational proficiency in chemical inspection.
